Welcome to TunePrepper
You are now the proud owner of what may be the world's most-complete tool for the ripping and preparation of music and other audio files for broadcast use. With TunePrepper, you can go from original audio CD to finished, encoded product, ready for broadcast, with one mouseclick on the Start button. Here are the steps TunePrepper handles for you, in one shot:
- Look up your CD tracks online in a CDDB (CD database)
- Allow you the option of customizing each track's information
- Rip (extract) the tracks from CD
- Normalize the tracks to optimize their volume
- Trim silence from the front and back of the tracks
- Encode the tracks to your choice of formats, including MP3 and Ogg Vorbis
- Store the tracks to your hard drive using the folder and filename structure you choose
- Copy the track information to the files' attributes so they can easily be found when doing song searches
TunePrepper can also be used to convert audio files among many of the most useful file formats, including WAV, AIFF, ADPCM, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and others. Just drop the files into TunePrepper, select an output format, and click Start. If you like, TunePrepper can also prep the files for broadcast at the same time, removing silences from their ends and normalizing their volumes.
Every Single Setting is Customizable
TunePrepper's default "factory" settings are great for starters, and for many, they may be all you need. But keep in mind there are tons of customizable features in TunePrepper. Every single setting can be user-selected and fine-tuned.
Just Like a Rocket!
Like a powerful rocket, bound for space, TunePrepper uses stages to get where it's going. First, the Selection Stage lets you view the the tracks you want ripped and prepped, and lets you fine-tune how you'd like them to be found during music searches. Next, the Processing Stage rips the tracks from CD, and if you like, performs normalization and silence-trimming on them. Then, the Encoding Stage converts the tracks to your choice of a number of file formats. And finally, the Output Stage stores the files to your hard drive and writes their file attributes. A popup progress window lets you watch TunePrepper working its way through two of the stages, Preparation and Encoding, as it automatically rips and processes each of your files.
Normally, once you've initially set things up to your liking, only the first one, the Selection Stage, needs to be adjusted.
