USING TUNEPREPPER

Output Stage Setup

With TunePrepper™, you can completely customize how your files are named, organized, and stored, in the "Output Stage," found in the lower right corner of the program's interface.

Pattern Name

Click on the Pattern Name, and note that there are a variety of pre-fab layouts for you. The phrasing might be unfamiliar to you, so here is a chart showing some examples and what they mean. The list below may differ somewhat from what you see in your TunePrepper™ installation, but the principles are the same:

Option What it Does

No Subfolders, Title_Only Saves the files to whatever folder you've specified as the default, using the Title of each cut as the filenames.

Artist/Title Creates a folder named after the Artist, and stores the files in it, using each file's Title as the filename.

Artist/Album/Title Creates a folder named after the Artist, and inside it, creates a folder named after title of the Album, and inside that, stores the files, using each file's Title as the filename.

Artist/Album/Track-Title Creates a folder named after the Artist, and inside it, creates a folder named after title of the Album, and inside that, stores the files, using each file's Track Number and Title as the filename (with a hyphen - inbetween).

Artist-Album/Track-Title Creates a folder named after the Artist and Album (with a hyphen - inbetween), and stores the files using each file's Track Number and Title as the filename (with a hyphen - inbetween).

Geek Tweak

You're not limited to just the preset output patterns. You can create your own personalized layouts too. Open the file /boot/home/config/settings/TunePrepper/patterns.conf in StyledEdit and have a look at the way the settings are expressed. The file is very self-explanatory. Just use the examples in the file as a guide when adding your own. Note that if you delete some of the settings from this file, they will no longer be available in TunePrepper, so you may want to make a backup of the file first, in case you change your mind later.

Default Output Folder

When you first install TunePrepper™, it is configured to use your "home" folder as the base location where it will save the files it processes. You can change that to whatever you'd like by clicking the Browse button. Use the Browse window to find the folder you want, left-click once on its icon to select it, then click the Select button. The newly-selected folder will be shown as a blue, underlined link near the Browse button in TunePrepper™. Moving your mouse over the link will display its entire path in the help information area on the bottom left. Left-clicking on the blue link will open the folder so you can access its contents.
